National Popular Vote Bill passes California Assembly Elections Committee
I am pleased to report that the National Popular Vote bill ( SB 37 ) passed the California Assembly Elections Committee in a 5-1-1 vote yesterday. The only opposition came from Assemblyman Robert Niello, with one assemblyman voting ‘absent’.
Other supporters of the compact include the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, California Common Cause, Secretary of State Debra Bowen, and the Southwest Voter Registration and Education Project.
